NOV11BC Task 06: Make a Reader Famous

NOV11BC.jpg

This is task 6 of the November 2011 Blogging Challenge (NOV11BC).

You might have notice that NOV11BC has been on a halt lately. The university’s semester is coming to an end, which also means, the due date of my assignments are just within these few weeks. So I’ve been spending most of my time doing assignments. And well yea, with my chronic “research/write/edit” syndrome, it just dragged off my timings.

Let’s get back to NOV11BC. If you’re kinda clueless what’s NOV11BC about, read on the details about the challenge at November 2011 Blogging Challenge.

NOV11BC

Hello there my fellow digital crusaders!

Check out my previous task: interlinking posts. My main task was to come up with a interlinking mechanism or ‘related content recommendation links’ at the end of my post. I’ve tried LinkWithin but it appears that it seems not to work here. So I’ve tried another plug-in, OutBrain, which is much similar to LinkWithin and in my opinion it may be even a better alternative.

In addition to that, I’ve also installed another plug-in from SimpleReach. It’s the sliding widget at the bottom right of my posts.

Give me feedbacks about your interlinking strategies or some feedback regarding this task at NOVBC11 Task 05: Interlinking Posts.

My Task today:

Promote, build the fame and influence of my readers.

According to a survey done by Darren of Problogger on why do bloggers blog. Bloggers have the desire to create a dent to this world (just like Steve Jobs) by helping others. Their goal is to get their message noticed and to be read by more people.

What I can do is to highlight the great posts that my fellow digital crusaders had done. In fact, the blogosphere was built on principles of promoting others, creating conversation, celebrating the diversity of point of view, and also a library of open source (free) knowledge.

There are few ideas that I could promote my readers:

1. Promote a comment to a post
2. Write a post about their blog
3. Send other readers to comment on their blog
4. Give a reader an opportunity to promote themselves
5. Run a weekly/monthly post called ‘Reader of the Week/Month’

As a token of appreciation to my readers, I’ll write a post that will promote those who had generously contributed their ideas and conversations especially throughout the course of this blogging challenge.

Here’s a question for you:

Did you ever promote or highlight your reader’s blog? If yes, how did you promote them?
