NOV11BC

Hello there my fellow digital crusaders!

Check out my previous task: comment on a blog you’ve never commented on before. Instead of commenting on ‘a’ blog, I’ve raised the ante by commenting on 5 blogs. In the post, I’ve also explained about the benefits of leaving comments on blogs.

My Task:

Create a interlinking mechanism that will link back to my older blog posts.
The fact is that a blog post has a very short “shelf life” but this all dependable on how frequent you publish up a new post and how you designed your blog. Every time you published up a new post, the older blog posts will be buried into the archives and might not be seen anymore until some archeologist decides to dig in for more of your blog post.

Without interlinking mechanism in your blog your blog will suffer a high bounce rate. Which also means, your readers will exit your blog without visiting or reading your other blog posts.

Okay, a new blog posts may reduce your previous posts shelf life, but, to the matter of fact, it actually provides you more opportunity to link back to your older posts. Generally they are few ways to do internal linking:

1. In-post interlinking. This is self-explanatory, add links inside the post itself.
Eg. Do you want to know more about NOV11BC? Check out the details.

2. End-post interlinking. Add a ‘read more related topics’ link at the end or bottom of the the post. This could be done manually or by using a plug-in such as LinkWithin. Actually I’ve installed LinkWithin into my blog but it seems not to work here but it does appear in my mobile theme. I need to find a solution for this or else I need to replace it and use other plug-in.

I got a few questions for you:

Do you interlink your posts? If you do, how you did it? What plug-in are you using? Please share your thoughts and add more value to this post. And of course, you’ll have a link back to your blog for your contribution! ;-)

Please Facebook share and retweet this post.

Yea, there are millions of plugins you can use if you’re on WordPress platform. That might be one of the reason why I moved from Blogger to WordPress. But I think there are a lot of Blogger compatible plugins available already.

I’ve just installed Outbrain here but it seems not to be working well I supposed because I couldn’t see it appears after my post. The SimpleReach plugin, the one you can see in the bottom, seems to work alright.
