This is day 2 of the November 2011 Blogging Challenge (NOV11BC). Read on about the details of the challenge at November 2011 Blogging Challenge.

NOV11BC

Hello there my fellow digital crusaders!

Check out my previous task: write an about me page. If you don’t have one yet in your blog, don’t wait till tomorrow, just start crafting a simple about me page like mine. It doesn’t have to be perfect. Just start. You can always get back and revise it.

Develop an Editorial Calendar

Now that I’ve set up a posting frequency for this NOV11BC, which I will be posting up fresh content daily for 18 days straight, it’s time to schedule the tasks for this coming week.

Let me get it straight, I came up with NOV11BC without a proper planning in advance on what particular task I need to set daily as an exercise to challenge myself. I just start. Applying the “Ready, Fire, Aim!” approach. Or else, I’ll just be looping in the never ending “Ready, Aim~” process.

In NOV11BC, I seize the opportunity to learn by failing first.

My task today:

1. Brainstorming on tasks to choose for my daily challenges. For each of these task, they will be separated into categories for easy scheduling.

2. Slot each categories into the Editorial Calendar. In my case, my preferred tool will be using the Google Calendar.

So here’s a question for you:
How did you usually plan your blog posting regime?

I don’t usually plan my blog posts.  In the spring I was on a schedule and that worked fairly well until I got busy and then the blog went by the wayside.

Planning is a good idea and I’ll give it a try for this challenge and see how it goes.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

I’ve tried running an editorial calender before for both of my blogs. I wrote them on a piece of paper, slot posts into each day, and it was really productive. I have all the topics and ideas of what to post in one place. No “what am I gonna write today” headache.

However, I only exercise it for a week until I lost that piece of paper. This time I’ll just schedule the posts in Google Calendar. I can access them anywhere I want.

    Wow. So systematic!

It’s a good remedy for reducing pressure and stress of having to brainstorm ideas everyday. It works for me. But well, I won’t be that rigid on the schedules and be much dynamic. Tweaking when necessary.

Hey Fish, that’s a very interesting method on how you plan and come up with fresh blog posts every week. Thanks for sharing.
